The Sea Gull Interface Box
The SGBox is the link between the PC
and the instruments. It takes care of the distribution of the simulation data to the
instruments and vice versa: the manual adjustments you make on your instruments, like the
HDG, are sent back to the Flight simulator on your PC.
The 2 microprocessors in the Sea Gull
Box control the communication between the PC and all of the instruments.
The protocol we use is the very secure CAN Bus protocol, as used by the high end aeroplane and car
manufacturers to communicate between the many processors in a modern plane and car.
Every Box has 4 CAN ports by which it is able to communicate with a total of at least 100
instruments.
All our products need the Sea Gull Interface box to communicate with your PC, but only one box is needed and this box will support future developments and extensions.
Below is a rear-view of the (new) Sea Gull Interface box with LightControl; this allows dimming/brightening the instruments LEDs. It has a potentiometer connected to it and also allows Lightcontrol via the Simulator.
